{P.S. this was supposed to be posted on 09.08.07.. but since my comp died on me suddenly, i decided to ignore it. in the end, i befriended it again and hence, here is my BELATED post. =) this is a long post.. onli for those who are REAL BORED..}
so tired aft ytd's national day celebration.. got home at 6.. bathed and had dinner.. slept at 8pm until 8am today! finally got back my long-desired sleep...
well. this was what happened ytd (08.08.07):
.jpg)
6.56am
[Busy preparing the 'One in a 3llion' tee with the fading "THIS IS WHERE I BELONG" words on it.. ]
.jpg)
7.12am
[Face-painting! P.S. The design rocks! thanks lots, aurial!
Left: Aurial, the "Minister for Information, Communications, and THE ARTS"!
Right: Yuelong!]
7.37am
ok.. we are late to get to the parade square.. all because of face-painting and shirt-painting la..
and my whole shirt + hand is stained with tt white white paint.. yee.. =(
7.43am
cold jokes! I LOVE COLD JOKES! esp under the hot sun..
7.50am
the GOH (guest-of honour) arrives..
WHY ALWAYS is the skl management committee chairman.. CHAN SHUI HIM one huh..?
7.51am ONWARDS..
[national anthem]
WOW!! the band is playing so well la.. i'm so motivated to sing the national anthem! but den mengjit after tt say not good.. ok la.. must listen to the professional ppl's opinions wad.. =(
so.. i think the playing no good.. lols..
[pledge]
oh dear! first time say pledge so loudly. james influenced me. we were like saying the pledge louder than the ppl in the UGs.. =) and i still rmbed shouting the "FOR OUR NATION" damn loud.
[songs part one]
WHERE I BELONG: super nice song.. esp the starting...
MUNNAERU VAALIBAA: erm.. saya tidak fahum ('i dun understand' in malay). only heard junhao wif his tongue-rolling accents..
心连心: so tempted to sing the english version.. LET US BE TOGETHER.. TOGETHER HAND IN HAND..
wow.. aft the songs.. suddenly FEEL SO HIGH! just like a campfire.. (the fire is in my HEART!)
[march in march out]
ok la.. wasn't really paying attention to who fainted, who fidgeted, etc..
was thinking abt the past..

sec one: training training training. tried so hard to love footdrill. it's like every mon, wed, fri train for the marching.. and what's more, without the 'FIVE DAY WORK WEEK', sat oso must come back.. in the end avoid training whenever i can.. (note: to any scouts looking at this, PLEASE.. do not follow my footsteps) it was kinda expected tt i didnt get to march.. wif abt 20 sec 4s (they are still allowed at tt time), abt 20+ sec 3s, 10 sec 2s, and 17 sec 1s, it's the 'ONLY THE FITTEST CAN PARTICIPATE' kind of thing. i ended up wearing scouts unform and sitting on the 1K table, viewing the whole ceremony.
now (2007), wif lesser ppl and no sec 4s participating, it's just like the pledge theory. everyone can participate regardless of STANDARD, ARMSWING and COORDINATION. less competition, less determination to succeed.. and heard tt someone even polish boots for the sec ones. how pampered they are these days.. "Give a person a fish and feed him for one day. Teach him how to fish and feed him for a lifetime."
sec two: with lesser ppl, i kind of passed the tedious training. it was so stressful. so pressurising. marching the parade square. few hundred ppl staring at u.. one less jerk, one more bang, it will reflect badly on the whole unit. i can no longer feel this intense pressure coming on me. even when i want it. those days. they are gone for good. do you have this kind of thing in JC? i guess not..
sec three: no NDP.. NDP@ECP.. 2.4 run! lols.. apparently, it was due to THE GRAND CELEBRATION OF SCHOOL'S 50th ANNIVERSARY.. wows.. the party-popping event? so fun la. but then, it wasn't fun at all. just handed over and nth for us to be busy and to gain experience abt.
sec four: lol.. read on to find out more..

[songs part two]
my people my home: *muacks* the best song of all.. it's so patriotic, so emotion-provoking, so melodious.. ups at the right time, downs at the correct moment. unlike some other fast-paced and empty-in-meaning-songs (eg. reach out for the skies). i donno why this audio is not found on the web, but i feel tt this shuld be sang every yr..
chan mali chan: make me think of mrs mary chan (the health-conscious homec teach). lol.. thinking of her makes me think of ms sia. her face, her smiles, her LAME JOKES. mr smith also came onto my mind.. all the sec two ppl and experiences.. 2кяаzієѕт’o5іvє.. in my mind, it's the best cls despite having the lowest average PSLE T-score (<249!)>will you: omg.. WHY? when this song was broadcasted, ppl just kept shouting my name.. and some photographers came and take a photo of me.. HUH? quite gong at tt time.. well, actually enjoyed the music and sort of sang along, asking many ppl whether they will do this and tt. cant help it! i'm too high!
[cheering comp]
woots! 2nd! this is how the cheer goes:
1 no trump, 2 no trump
Singaporeans LOVE..
my hump my hump, my hump my hump my hump!
(Girls squat down, boys dance)
Currypok, koropok
Singaporeans want meepok,
BUT..mai hiam mai hiam, mai hiam mai hiam mai hiam!
Singapura very nice,
Nasi lemak paradise.
Agar agar, pao pao cha
Lion City, GRAAAA! (throw poker cards!)
2nd was quite nice.. alot of us somehow 忘词. i didnt memorise it coz i left skl earlier the day before (during SEL lesson) for medical checkup.
4J is first AGAIN. as noel had said:
"我不开心不是因为我们没有拿1st, 而是4J拿1st!"
.jpg)
ok la.. at least being the 2nd most outstanding class is still marvellous, rite?[songs part three]There's No Place I'd Rather Be: before this, i vowed not to sing this song.. but the atmosphere was so low.. but i felt so high.. (PS. the councilors are helplessly waving in front of the classes. other than fanning those in front, it was not helpful at all. they oso blocked some ppl's view of the performances x{ ) didnt sing the cairo part.. just the chorous.. and i'm surprised to find no SINGAPORE in the lyrics.. looking back again.. only stephanie sun's one united ppl talked abt singapore.. One People, One Nation, One Singapore: "one table, four ppl, lets play mahjong".. sounds familiar rite? of course i didnt sing this on the nation's birthday party.. i was still so high and joined in the singing.. this is a 'must sing' for every yr's NDP.. was like thinking of the past AGAIN when i was singing.. the journey frm primary skl to secondary skl.. a small little boy to a slightly taller guy.. it's one amazing and memorable journey. how wonderful.
[tree-planting]
well.. when returning back to cls, some ppl wanted to paint mr chen's face. but in the end da chao jing she, then mr chen ran away.. grr..
then in cls quite bored, so we opened up the basket of treats we won frm the face-painting and cheering comp. those who were slow only got to enjoy weathers (erm.. wrong spelling?) original.
photo-taking.

supposed-to-be-formal shot
.jpg)
the informal shot
wellwell.. after so much crap, the tree-planting havent actually started, so i suggested playing 'musical chairs'. i can see frm ppl's eyes how eager they wanted to play. but most just thought tt "i am a sec four. i cannot be childish" and hence, miss out on the fun..
tree-planting finally began aft a long time..
and aurial and i kept screaming, "WE LOVE YOU MRS CHEW!" ohwells. aurial never fail to make me laugh la.. =D
[yuelong's hse]
oh gosh.. walked a long route to yuelong's hse..
and his hse is bigger than mine.. but less wheelchair-accessible..
played bridge, used computer, tried XBOX 360..
and i somehow got addicted (for the first time) to those fighting games! some game called dead or alive.. yuelong is so jian.. so close to prelim then make us all addicted to the game.. but too bad.. i got no XBOX at home.. lollipops!
reached home at 6.. Zzzz... Labels: Life..
